Our client is a national professional services organisation providing career transition, training and outplacement services to large corporate ASX listed clients.

About the role

As Head of Technology, you will be part of the leadership team. You will be the main point of contact for Technology and IT subject matter expert for the organisation and related group companies and will be responsible for helping the leadership team take the right IT decisions for the company. This role lies in the main group holding company that oversees the IT across the 4 different companies owned by the group.

You will be main conduit between with the leadership team, suppliers and MSP to oversee technology operation. You will drive the use of technology to drive organisation wide strategic IT improvements and outcomes. You will responsible for budgeting, planning pipeline of projects and systems implementations.

We are looking for a tech sparkle who loves technology- someone who is strategic but curious about new and wide variety of technologies, someone who likes to occasionally get involved in basic troubleshooting or PowerApp automation or Power BI implementation just for the fun.  The organisation uses a lot external vendors including managed service provider, software vendors, teclo vendors, etc. You will work along with and provide training and mentorship or others including data analyst, software PM but you will be only IT person in the organisation thus you might occasionally provide urgent end user support to leadership team or users if required.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible to:

·                Develop and implement the company’s ICT strategy in alignment with business goals and objectives.

·                Oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of all hardware, software and networking systems.

·                Manage all IT operations, support services, and risks to ensure a positive participant, client and employee experience.

·                Support strategic growth plans including managing the implementation and integration of new and existing systems

·                Provide advice and recommendations to the leadership group around technology strategy, governance and information security

·                Research about new technologies in the market and recommend the leadership team about new technologies

·                Manage and maintain the ICT Budget making cost-effective decisions regarding technology procurement and investment.

·                Develop and continue development of the technology roadmap and prepare business cases and cost / benefit analysis of new initiatives

·                Evaluate and recommend ICT solutions that enhance efficiency, security, productivity and competitiveness.

·                Drive digital and technology transformation across the business, ensuring strong project governance, effective change management, software development delivery and uptake

·                Implement systems, processes and procedures to protect the company wide information and data security

·                Establish and enforce IT policies, processes and security standards to safeguard data and information assets.

·                Develop and maintain data back-ups, disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity. (or oversee MSP implementation)

·                Manage the relationship with the Managed Services Provider and recommend changes where necessary.

·                Manage the implementation and integration of new systems and processes.

·                Ensure the availability and reliability of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and data storage with the ultimate aim being to move as many services and systems as possible to the cloud.

·                Contribute to tender preparation and respond to client’s tender’s information security questionnaires

·                Manage all IT operation, support services and risk to ensure a robust IT environment

·                Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in technology and recommend their adoption where appropriate.

·                Train and mentor staff on technology best practices, security protocols and effective system usage.

·                At times provide onsite technical support and troubleshooting for employees, consultants and candidates.

Experience and Qualification: You MUST have:

·         Passionate about technology and technologies potential to improve stakeholders / clients experience and drive growth

·         Exposure to strategic planning and execution and in the development of technology road-maps

·         Exceptional stakeholder management experience

·         Proven track record of successful leadership with cross functional teams and business units

·         Proven experience to manage end-to-end technology environments including infrastructure, projects, SaaS softwares, application, vendors, and service

·         Advanced knowledge of computing software and equipment, general knowledge of computing network, database, programming logic, data modelling and processes.

·         Knowledge of ITIL methodology, Project management, IT governance and budgeting

·         Experience across technology stack / supporting Office 365, Azure, Windows O/S, Outlook, Citrix, LAN, WAN, Cloud computing, Azure, SQL Server Studio, Power BI

·         A degree in technology and qualification in Project management will be highly regarded

·         Previous experience of budgeting, financial management, financial reporting

·         Experience developing business case and presenting business cases to executive team

·         Experience with Python and MYOB Exo shall be highly regarded

·         Previous experience as IT Manager or Head of IT shall be highly regarding

·         Ability to provide remote support
