Job Description

  • Consulting role with strategic focus on clients’ IT environment
  • Manage a portfolio of customer helping clients with IT strategy and
  • Sales focused role but sales as bi-product of good client IT strategy

Our client an established, successful Managed Service Provider to small and medium enterprises throughout Australia. They offer our clients a range of services including 24 hour service desk, network monitoring, telephony and WAN solutions, private and public based cloud based solutions, software development, software support and other project based works. 

 

About the role

You will the acting as the strategic IT advisor to a number of small to medium size businesses. A few unique aspects of the role are:

  • You must have a good technical understanding and MUST have a strategic view about your assigned client’s organization, their IT infrastructure and how you can help them meet their long-term goals
  • You must be a extremely strong with rapport and relationships building
  • Strategic Account Manager role is a 100% strategic consulting role – we are looking for sales focused individuals but we are not looking for transactional sales individuals – we are looking for IT strategy focused and relationship driven sales strategists
  • The role does have an sales/revenue KPIs as a by-product of improvements you will bring in the client's environment 
  • The role does not require you to do hands on technical work
  • You are expected to understand client requirements and help your portfolio of customers meet their vision. You will have pre-sales help in the organization to help you design the solution and SDM shall be responsible for delivering the solution

 

You must have experience formulating Strategy meeting customers’ needs and objects and experience delivering Service Strategy to Plan/Service Design that delivers to business objectives.

 


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Consulting, providing solutions, helping improve client IT environment and assisting the clients to meet their vision by removing IT as a pain area
  • Act as a IT Strategy advisor for a number of clients
  • Conduct regular meeting / strategic workshops with the clients
  • Liaison with the internal MSP team to ensure client’s objectives are met
  • Act as final escalation / touch point for the customer (not a technical hands on touch point)
  • Help identify / build a long term IT strategy for the clients
  • Reduce clients IT risk and help them get time back in the day
  • Ability to become a trusted advisor for the client

  • Customer satisfaction
  • Health of customer
  • Revenue generated as a bi-product of advise

 

Experience

  • A well rounded IT and IT management experience
  • Strong Strategic IT consulting (internal or external) experience
  • Experience within a Managed Services environment, supporting multiple Customers' (preferred)
  • Strong technical understanding and IT Account Management background
  • Previous experience of running own business (shall be looked at favourably)
  • Strong communication and relationship building experience
  • Several years experience in strategic IT advisory role

 

Qualifications & Other Requirements  

  • Tertiary qualifications in an IT or related discipline
  • Drivers licence & willingness to travel
