About the role

You will be reporting to the Professional Services Manager who will be accountable for the overall strategy of the Professional Services division.  As the Project Services Manager, you will accountable to ensure that the department is operating in line with the department strategy and you will be accountable for the P&L or achieving the profitability of the department.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Project Management
   • Ensuring transformation projects are delivered timely, within scope and within agreed budget envelope
   • Prepare project plans, including schedule, resources and project deliverables
   • Monitor and control each phase and steps of project implementation
   • Identify and report project issues and project risks to the relevant individuals
   • Find solutions to mitigate and/or minimise project risks and other issues
   • Managing the status reporting for allocated transformation projects
   • Identifying and driving continuous process improvements and business re-engineering opportunities to ensure the projects team is operating at best practice
   • You will be dealing with projects/solutions such as:
     • On-premise services – all onsite infrastructure solutions and devices
     • Cloud Services –Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and cloud migration projects
     • Infrastructure rollout projects such as Active Directory and Exchange Server upgrades and deployments, Archiving, SAN deployments, VMware upgrades and deployments, Veeam, Anti-Virus, Site relocations, cloud migrations, server migrations, Office365 migrations, Azure migration, desktops, etc
     • Network rollout projects such as ADSL, Fibre Network turn ups and troubleshooting, LAN Cabling, VLAN's, WLAN, SD-WAN, MPLS 
     • Security rollout projects such as Firewall such as CISCO Meraki, SonicWall, etc
     • Backup rollout projects such as configuring Veeam, Datto, cloud backup solutions
2. Department Management
   • Ensure department delivers the required profitability by ensuring the required level of resources ulitisation
   • Managing day-to-day operations and people aspect of the business
   • Removing impediments for the team to ensure the projects team is focused on delivering projects and achieving required utilisation levels
   • Ensure sufficient advance scheduling of projects else reporting the utilisation and risk of impact on P&L to management
   • Ensuring profitability of the department
   • Ensuring required communication to the customers
   • Building PM and project delivery capability of the organisation

 Experience Requirements:

• Excellent client service skills, communication skills and documentation skillset
• Approach and behaviour to deliver projects collaboratively, understanding the value of "one team".
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience delivering IT projects, through all life-cycle phases
• Ability to handle client discussions & solutions
• Knowledge of ConnectWise (PSA) preferably
• Deep understanding of project management methodologies, tools and principles

 Qualification:

• A minimum of 3-5 years work experience leading and managing delivery of IT projects preferably ICT infrastructure projects
• Tertiary qualification and Project Management certification.
• Previous experience as an Infrastructure Project Engineer and relevant industry certifications MCITP, MCSE, VCP, CCNA, Datto shall be highly regarded
• Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen
